My TEDx Talk: #MyJihad- The Struggle for Self-Expression

I often contemplate the history of my family. My father’s upbringing in communist Bulgaria- which I speak about in my Talk. And my Croatian mother’s birth in an Austrian refugee camp- her father already killed before he could hold her. I contemplate the meaning of these events in my family history. The significance to the world- if at all.
The opportunity for me to deliver this TEDx talk, and be part of the #MyJihad campaign, allows the tragedies in my family history to not be in vain. Let this inspire even one of you who watch this- to use the #MyJihad campaign as your platform to speak your truth and to be yourself.
No one will define ME except for ME.
No one will define YOU except for YOU.
