Photo Gallery: Chicago UIC Trump Protest, March 11, 2016
This photo gallery of the protest that took place at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion on March 11, 2016 accompanies my Chicago Monitor story that also has additional photos and that tells more of the “inside” story. I’ve also uploaded a number of outside video clips on my YouTube Channel (see an example below.)
Being a part of this historic event is something I want to document as the corporate media had a great time offering a distorted version of events on television sets across the nation. To be on the ground was nothing but pure energy lifting souls off the ground. I’m so proud of the student organizers and American citizens that through their creative signage and passionate expression of their first amendment rights – made history.
“Trump just couldn’t face the many faces of our beautiful diverse city. This wasn’t 5th avenue after all, this was the middle of Chicago. And we sent a strong positive message of inclusion and peace, not division and hate. We simply won’t tolerate his attempts to single out groups to hate or blame! We stood together, we chanted together in total solidarity and the bottom line is, we were just being Americans.” ~Cheri Gorski, Chicago
THIS is what America looks like!
