Be an unapologetic supporter of #BDS. I support #BDS
There are some things in life you need to be unapologetic about. Some things you can’t allow bullying and intimidation to knock you off your heels. There are times to dig your heels IN- and #BDS is one of those things. This is one of those times.
Please watch the above video. #BDS is a non-violent means- YOUR SUPERPOWER- to make a difference by not supporting corporations that have a bloody hand in the genocide of the Palestinian people. It gives YOU a voice to say, “No. I don’t support apartheid. And I demand- with my dollars and my voice- that compliance with international law happen NOW.
Please don’t listen to detractors and sold-out politicians trying to bully you into not supporting BDS- telling you they will stop supporting organizations that you need or love. It worked for apartheid south Africa. It will work for Palestine.
I proudly support #BDS. On the Day of Judgement, when Allah asks me, “What did you do for Palestine once you were aware that they were systematically oppressed with genocide and illegal wars using illegal chemical weapons? When you knew that land was being stolen with the support of your sold out government? And the war industry that your tax dollars support?
What did you do, Yasmina?
I want to be able to answer, “I did what I could, Allah. I spread the word. I tried to educate people around me. I supported #BDS. I supported charities that helped the oppressed like PCRF. I did not purchase items that I know are on the BDS list like SABRA hummus and Coke. I voted and supported American politicians that want peace, not war- though the list of them is shrinking. I marched in protest in my own city – demanding the siege of Gaza be lifted. Demanding an end to apartheid.”
That’s what I am doing.
That’s what I will continue to do.
